Have you ever suffered from the paralyzing fear of what if? It's the fear that something we dread might possibly come true. There's only one solution to this form of fear, which we call anxiety. And that is the assurance everything is going to be okay.
But the world gives us no such assurances. We find ourselves surrounded by a myriad of real dangers resulting in an endless list of “what ifs.” It's no wonder people are so tormented with fear. And our anxieties only increase our despair by adding countless imagined dangers to the very real ones in front of us.
But God has stepped into this dangerous, demonic world through Jesus Christ. And when He did, He made the most audacious claim ever uttered by human lips: for every person who believes in him, everything is going to be ultimately, gloriously, eternally, and indescribably and amazingly, okay.
Then to demonstrate the reality of His claim and its trustworthiness, Jesus defeated death and announced “all authority in heaven and on Earth” had been given to him. With this authority, Jesus says to everyone who believes in him. “I tell you, do not be anxious about your life” (Luke 12:22)
What He accomplishes for us and promises to us is the ultimate triumph of all that we might fear. He does not promise us escape from every difficulty. He promises that He will redeem every misery.
Jesus says to you and me, right now, right where we're at, “Do not be anxious”. He says this knowing our past, our present, our future, the seriousness of our anxiety, and how He will make all things work out for good.
Blessings, Pastor blood.
