The Four "Ifs"

​Jim Rohn, in LEADING AN INSPIRED LIFE, says, “There are four ifs in the area of growth and change that make life worthwhile.

1.  Life is worthwhile if you learn.  Learn from personal experiences, learn from other people.  Learn!
2. Life is worthwhile if you try.  Take what you learn and put it into practice.
3. Life is worthwhile if you stay.  Stay until…
4. Life is worthwhile if you care.  If one cares at all, they will get results.

In his book, SOMETIMES YOU WIN—SOMETIMES YOU LEARN, John Maxwell discussed the “if factor” in how we face adversity.  He wrote…

1. Adversity introduces us to ourselves if we want to know ourselves.
2. Adversity is a better teacher than success if we want to learn from adversity.
3. Adversity opens doors for new opportunities if we want to learn from it.
4. Adversity can signal a coming positive transition if we respond correctly to it.
5. Adversity writes our story and if our response is right the story will be good.

Jim Rohn says, if we remember the four ifs, we will be on our way to a life worth living.  That is generally true, however, with the help, power, and presence of God in our live, it becomes even more true.
