The Apostle Paul makes an amazing statement in 2 Timothy 4:6-8,“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Therefore, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing.”
Based on chapter eight “Finishing Well” of the book ATTITUDES THAT ATTRACT SUCCESS by Wayne Cordero, we must do four things consistently:
1. Aim for the Right Target. Paul made pleasing Jesus the main objective of his life. He said, “This one thing I do…” (Philippians 3:13-14)
2. Run the Right Race. We should put off all encumbrances and run with endurance the race that is set before us. The race God chooses for us. That’s what Paul did. He ran the right race.
3. Satisfy Your Soul with Jesus. The Apostle Paul sought first “the kingdom of God and his righteousness”, rather than earthly possessions.
4. Seek Lasting Contentment. Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11-12, “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstance I am.” He had found the secret to inner contentment is a right relationship with Christ.
